Requirements

Open to full-time undergraduate students (as early as first year) with a minimum 3.0 GPA who are pursuing a degree in an IEEE-designated field of interest, which as of the 2025 program changes explicitly includes Engineering, Computer Sciences and Information Technology, Physical Sciences, Biological and Medical Sciences, Mathematics, and Technical Communications. Applicants must attend an ABET-accredited university/college in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or Canada and be a U.S. citizen, Canadian citizen, or U.S. permanent resident. Renewal in years two and three requires career experience (internship/co-op) in power and energy engineering and IEEE PES student membership.
